2008 Junior Miss Rodeo Washington
Ruby Mineer
Port Orchard , WA
Twelve year old Ruby Mineer was the happiest cowgirl in Toppenish as she was awarded the 2008 title of Junior Miss Rodeo Washington on September 29th, 2007. On that day she proved to herself that faith, hard work, and dedication make dreams come true.
Ruby is the daughter of Wally and Brenda Mineer. She is the youngest of five siblings. Ruby attends Harbor Christian Schools in Gig Harbor where she is in 7th grade. Her favorite classes are math, language arts and Bible.
When she is not riding or competing on her American Quarter Horses, she enjoys sewing, photography and many sports. Ruby is a lifetime member of the AQHYA, a member of Washington State Horsemen’s Association, the Kitsap Lucky Horseshoes 4-H club (where she has severed in the past as President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Photographer), she is a member of the Kitsap Saddle Club in Port Orchard, the Kitsap Junior Rodeo Association, and she is in her fourth year as a member of the Miss Rodeo Washington Association. Ruby also is a member of the Northwest Junior Rodeo Association where she served in 2007 as the Junior Girl Youth Representative. Her favorite events in the NJRA are goat tying, barrel racing, break away roping, and pole bending.
Ruby is very excited for this opportunity to serve the people of the great State of Washington as she promotes the amazing sport of Rodeo wherever she may find herself this year!
