This Clinic will cover all aspects of rodeo queening including:

Pageant Preparation: Learn how to prepare for your upcoming Pageant from the application to the crowning;
Horsemanship: Bring a video and have professional horsemen judge your pattern
Appearance: Wardrobe planning and coordination on a budget;
Personality: What judges look for;
Speech: Writing, delivery; tips and techniques;
Photogenics: Wardrobe, judging and Ideas;
Modeling: All aspects, from technique to wardrobe selection;
Hair and Makeup: How to achieve “Queen Hair” and make up application and selection;
Organization: For the Queen Contestant and title holder;
Etiquette: Handling yourself like a lady in every situation;
Interviews: Tips on giving the interview of your life;
Knowledge: What to study and study tips;
Impromptus: What to study and how to answer;
Hands on rodeo events: Learn about the events and the tools of the trade

Color and Wardrobe Evaluating the fit of the clothes/color draping

Clothing Exchange: Participants will have an opportunity to buy or sell queen clothing. Please bring items to sell, be sure and label all items with your name and asking price.

Speech: You will need to bring a prepared speech ready to deliver. Your speech may be any length and on any topic.

Fashion Show: Bring an outfit to model in the Fashion Show

Mock Interviews: Each contestant will go through mock interviews.

The Miss Rodeo Washington Association has assembled a team of EXPERTS from all areas of rodeo queening!  This clinic will feature over 30 industry professionals, former rodeo queens, rodeo contestants, historians, professional photographers, judges, clothing designers, models, etc! 

Clinic instruction will include class room style, group rotations and one on one sessions!

All participants will receive “All you ever wanted to know about being a rodeo queen and then some!” a one of a kind rodeo queen study guide compiled by Karie O’Donnell-Jones.Study Book.  (Parents, Coaches and Directors may purchase book)

Karie O’Donnell-Jones: Karie is on the Miss Rodeo America Executive Board, Miss Rodeo Washington State Delegate, has served as a Judge for Miss Rodeo Texas (twice), Utah, Montana, Nebraska, Oregon, Pro-West, etc.. Karie holds a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism and a Certificate in Advanced Speech Communications. Karie was also Miss Rodeo Washington 1996, in addition to numerous other titles.
